I just wanted to say how grateful i am for this gospel! I know that through this gospel our families are blessed, i just want to invite you all to find a way that you can help your family come closer together, weather it is through scripture study, family prayer, family Home evening, or just spending more time together as a family! Krismas Mwahu!

Beautiful Pohnpei❤❤❤❤

🎅MERRY CHRISTMAS!!   Hey everyone I just wanted to start off by saying Merry Christmas to you all!  I hope you all enjoy the Christmas spirit and remember the real reason for the season!! These last few weeks have been rough, we haven't been able to go proselyting due to my companion falling but thankfully this seek we were able to go on splits and was able to go and see some of our investigators!  It is so crazy to see the miracles that Heavenly Father is blessing us with!
Some crazy news that happened this week is that my companion is getting transferred to Guam and I will be hanging out with Sister Russell and Sister Pokepalla  the other set of sisters that are living in our house! So we will be proselyting in two areas until my other companion comes!
I am not sure where she is from or what she looks like so it will be a total surprise! She comes on December 26 so merry Christmas to me!
I just want to leave with you the reason for the season is Jesus Christ. I have really come to know him, as I look back on my mission I realize that there were times he was literally carrying me! I know that as we all turn to him, not just this Christmas season but everyday that we can always feel more at  peace!  I know that because of him we can live again! I am so grateful for all of you and for all the support that you give me! For all the many prayers that are said for the missionaries! I love you all and hope you have a Merry Christmas!

The POWER of the Book of Mormon!!

Sister Bowers and Sister Russell doing what they love ... Serving ICE CREAM! I hope there was some left(-;

Hey everyone! How are you? I hope your week was great! I just wanted to Start off by inviting you to all watch the awesome Christmas video that the Church has made! I absolutely love it! It has 25 ways in 25 days that we can light the world. EVERYONE do it it is so awesome to see the little blessings that come from it!

This week I just want to share a story with you all about one of our investigators named Kikileen. We have been teaching her for a while, we are waiting for her to get permission from her mom to get married so that she can get baptized. She has just started reading the Book Of Mormon and we have been reading it with her. The other night a member comes running up to us! "Sisters i have to tell you something about Kikileen! She came to my mom and told her that after she had finished reading the Book of Mormon she was sitting down on a rock thinking and then she said that there was a really bright light in the Mango tree! She said when she got closer the light began to shrink!" while our member is telling us this i am thinking no way that is the same as like the tree of life and like Joseph Smith!!!!!! So we go to teach Kikileen and  she tells us the story of what had happened, the whole time she is telling us i have goose bumps form head to toe! I was, in a way, having a hard time breathing because i knew that what she had seen was from Heavenly Father! I know that we all don't get big signs or a big bright glowing light for our answer but i do know that the lord answers our prayers! I know with out a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true! Always turn to it when you are having a hard time or dont know what to do! I can promise you that if you pray with real intent Heavenly Father will Show you! haha yes i just sounded like a missionary there but DO IT!!!!! I love you all and am so greatful for all the love and support that you give me! Have a great week!

Miracles on Pohnpei!!

Beautiful Pohnpei

Going to Church.

This week was literally miracles from the Lord. We were able to go to one of our investigators house and by go to i mean drive to the outer island, park and walk through the jungle for 30-40 minutes around to the other side of the island! We invited her to come to church but she said that we needed to talk to her dad to see if she could come, but her dad was out fishing. The next day was church so we said we would come and see her dad Sunday morning. So the alarm goes off at 6:20 we leave at 6:30 and get to the outer island and then my companion goes i forgot my name tag! I look down..."oh crap me too!!" So we drive back to the house and get our name tags and then back to the island! We park the car and then start speed walking so we can make it to her house in time so that she can come to church on time! If felt like we were running! The whole way to her house I was praying please please please let her dad come to church! She has been wanting to get baptized but hasn't been able to come! We finally get to her house and talk with her parents! It was like we showed up they said yes our investigator ran an showered and not only did she come with us to church but her brother as well! Hopefully next week the whole family can come!

I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers! I have seen this week that after of the trial of your faith comes the blessings and it is so true! So no matter how hard things get or if you feel like everything is just going down hill stick it out, there will be mighty miracles coming shortly after! I know that missionary work is really the lords work and that its not easy! But I have learned so much from this experience already! I cannot thank you all enough for all the prayer and letters! I am so grateful for you all! Have a great week! Love and miss you all!!

Well this week was crazy!  We walked through the ocean because the tide was so high and we had to get to this lady's house to talk to her!  When we got there she wasn't there but we were able to have a lesson with her husband! The spirit was so strong! It was so awesome to feel just as we were teaching  him that we could feel the power of the spirit!

What is Sister Bowers eating?  Seafood?  That's a miracle!

Uh Branch

The Poll Family in our branch and our Branch President

Hey everyone! This week has been crazy! The area i am in is hard to find new investigators, no one ever wants to come to church! But all is well! We were led to a little girl who is 8 years old and her dad is a member and he told us that we needed to go and teach her! So off we went! We go to her house and while we are teaching her another little boy whos parents are members but are less active joined in the lesson! We invited them to both be baptized and they both said yes! It was a miracle from Heavenly Father! Then on Sunday they came to church and ended up bringing their parents with them! It is so awesome to see the tender mercies of the Lord!

This week i have been reading about the Tree of life! Oh man how it relates exactly to our day!

1. 1 Nephi 11;25

2. 3 Nephi 14:13 and 14

3. 1 Nephi 10:19

Straight and narrow is the way, as time goes on the straighter and narrower the path gets, We always need to be holding on to the rod by studying the scriptures, praying, obeying the commandments even the little ones, by not listening to those songs that don't invite the spirit! I  can promise you that as you do, you will notice a difference! I know this is the true church! I am so grateful for all of you! Thanks for all the support! Have a great week! Love you all!

Training a 31 year old?!?!?!?!?!?

Sister Bowers and Sister Tuevi

SOOOOO I am training a 31 Yr. old! How crazy! It very different from my last companion! Her name is Sister Tuevi.   She is from Kiripati! She is so quiet an never talks! Her English is good! but i have to speak really slow for her to understand! So when ever we go out proselyting i take advantage and talk to everyone even though i may not know the language! I Just need to talk to people! It has been so awesome to see how the gift of tongues works! I know quite a bit of pohnpeian i guess you could say, but when you have a companion who doesn't know any its just you and the lord! This week we did a lot of walking and finding and during that time i would talk to the people they would reply back but i would know the words they were saying but through Heavenly Fathers help i understood what they were meaning to say! Speaking of not knowing the language! We were having a branch meeting and the pres. asked us how we could help get the members to church on time so i reply back in pohnpeian with the help of one of the members and everyone laughed! I ended up saying i would go and beat the members to help them wake up! haha all because i pronounced a word wrong! haha but no worries we all got back on the same page! I cannot express how grateful i am for all of the prayers! and support! Have a great week! Love and miss you all!

TRAINING!?!?!?!

Sister Bowers and her FALL leaves.

Hey everyone I hope your week was great! This week has been great!  We were able to find new investigators and even listen to General Conference! It was AWESOME!!!  Well this week I am emailing from Guam because I am now TRAINING !!  What?? How crazy! I flew to Guam last night at 1 AM and got here at 4 AM!! I am not sure who I am going to be training but I will find out on Wednesday! I am a little stressed because our area is struggling and the language is going to be a little hard!  But is all gonna be okay there is going to be lots of laughs!  It will definitely be a learning and growing experience!!
We finally got to listen to Conference this week and it was absolutely amazing! I loved being able to hear the words from our church leaders!  They are truly called of God! It is a different feeling when you are a missionary listening to conference!  It is like every talk is meant just for you!! Its amazing!
I just want to bear my testimony to all of you that I  know this church is true!  I know that Heavenly Father loves and know each and everyone of us! I know with out a shadow of a doubt that
that the atonement is real. I know that  that is the only way we can find true happiness and peace in our lives! I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, I know that it is true!  I know that even just reading it can bring happiness to our lives!  I know that we have a real prophet and apostles  on the earth today! I am so grateful for them! I am so grateful for all of you and all the support and prayers! I  know without a doubt that Heavenly Father hears them and answers them!  I share these things  with you in the name to Jesus Christ, Amen.
I hope you all have a great week !  I love you all so much! Miss you all!
Love,
Sister Bowers

Running water ?!?!

Hey everyone I hope you had a great week enjoying your running water! ;) Haha this week we didn't have any running water in the house so you can only guess what the week consist of , Bucket showers, filling buckets to flush the toilet and many more!  But on the bright side, we got an AC put in our house finally! When we went to bed I woke up that morning feeling as if I was laying in snow I was so cold  but hey its okay because its the first time I have been that cold while being on my mission!
This week we went to teach on of our recent converts and when we went to his house him and his wife were fighting, his wife had told us that he started drinking again and was doing other things that he shouldn't! I was heart broken!! That is one thing on a mission.... its hurts when you see people fall even after they tasted the happiness that the gospel can bring them!   So we will be working a lot with him this week!
A funny story for the week! we were walking through the jungle because we're in Pohnpei so its all muddy and my companion can't get mud on her feet because she has a bacteria  spread all over her feet so they can't get wet. So I kick off  my shoes put her on my back and carry her to the house and we had a lesson!! We go back the next day and she ends up falling in the mud!! Oh Man, the joys of being on an island!! You go home with spider in your hair, new mosquitos  bites, ant in your pants (skirts), muddy and sweaty!! There is honestly no place I would rather be!  Micronesia Guam mission is the place to be!  I love and miss you all so much!! Have a great week!

Closets!!!!!!!

Hey everyone hope your week was great! This week has been slow due to my companion and i being sick! But there is something really exciting that happened this week was my companion and I were able to move into a new house! And it has closets! Actual closets! This will be the first time other than in the MTC that i won't be living out of my suit case! WAHOO!!!

This week we had Zone Conference and the topic was based on the Book of Mormon! It was so awesome! I have really been studying the Book of Mormon this week and I have really seen how much peace it brings! Missions are hard. You only have two things to rely on and that is the Book of Mormon and our Heavenly Father! Like it says in Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible" I have truly come to know this while being on my mission! With God all things are possible!

I love an miss you all have a great week!
Love, Sister Bowers

Sister Bowers and Sister Fehoko... beautiful island girls!!!

Chung! Chung!

Hello Everyone! Not much has happened this week but one thing that did was I ended up running with one of our recent converts and her friend to her house for a lesson while my companion and our member present  drove in the car!  It was funny ...my companion just kept yelling at us........ " Chung" Which means run!!
This week I was reading in Heleman 5 and it was talking about how the Lord watches over his servants and to know that he is always over me!!
Thank you for all the support! I love and miss all of you! Have a great week!

Island Life

Hello from Pohnpei!!  Well to start off this letter I will tell you  about my first night in my new house! I open the door and 6 cockroaches  run across the floor!  I go to the bathroom and it smell like rotten toilet water, our toilet leaks water everywhere!  The shower is not a shower, it is water that comes from a hole in the wall that falls into a bucket that we scoop and take bucket showers....it's great:)  My new area is has a lot of less actives, only 45 at church this week so hopefully we can reactivate a lot!  We are always busy!! Hardly  ever eating  dinner but still somehow managing to gain the good ole mission weight!!  Its fine it will go away eventually....right?!?!  Hah oh well!!
So funny story for the week!  We were going to an appointment and driving up this hill, a road  made out of coral that is now coming apart because of the rain.  The road is barely wide enough for our own car. I'm in the passenger seat  and my companion is driving and our member present is in the back seat. We're driving  and all the sudden a car comes, I'm thinking .. you have got to be kidding me! So we try to pull to the side of the road so the car can pass but to the side is a huge drop off!! So finally my comp says you drive so we park the car and switch drivers. We begin driving again and then another car and at this point we are on a good slant of  mountain!!! I'm like  man if we back up  were all gonna die!!   SO we end up having to back up all the way down the mountain and end up getting stuck in all the jungle weeds! I was pretty sketchy!
I was a little nervous that we were gonna topple backwards but its fine!! I'm here emailing.. alive! It was so funny!

I absolutely love my companion! How true it is that  your companion makes or breaks your mission! She is awesome! ( Her name is Sister Fehoko from Tonga)
Today we went to a water fall and it was soooo pretty! All the sisters climbed it all the elders just stayed at the bottom!

I absolutely love Pohnpei!!!!!! What an adventure it has been!  Have a great week! Remember to always look on the bright side !!

Love you all! Have a great week!
