Sister Bowers is LOVED in the Uh Branch!

Hey everyone! How are you all?! I hope you are all doing great! This week has been good! We have been able to really find the prepared investigators. We have started to teach Ana, Johns wife and we are hoping to put her on baptism date! I remember when I first got to Pohnpei and the very first time I met Ana, she wasn't the nicest person to talk to, she didn't want to hear about the gospel, we would come, she would leave. She would always yell at everyone, including the little kids, just kind of like a grouchy old lady. After John was baptized we decided that we would try to teach her because she would always join in our lessons that we would have with her grandson Shondon. So we have been teaching her and we invited her to come to church yesterday sacrament was almost over, the last speaker was giving their talk and in walks Ana and her whole family! Oh man I don't think I have been that happy in a while! I has been so cool to see how the atonement changes peoples life! We have also started teaching Shondons parents which has been an amazing experience also!

A funny story for the week, last night the power went out and when the power goes out on Pohnpei you cant tell if your eyes are open or if they are shut #roht haha its very dark. So I woke up last night at 11:45 and the power was out so I tried to find the phone, so in the process of trying to find the phone my companion sits up screaming "SISTER BOWERS!!" hah so I get scared and yell back at her "SISTER WARI WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!" haha oh my if only you all could have seen it!

That's about it for this week! I Hope that you all have a great week! I am always thinking and praying for you all! Love you!!

HEI! Kasalelie Maingko!

HEI! Kasalelie Maingko! Ia iromwail? How are you all?! This week was good! I was able to go on exchange with Sister Russell! It was so much fun! It rained all day on Wednesday so we weren't able to talk with a lot of people because Wednesdays are our walking days, were not allowed to use the car till 5pm! So there was no one on the road so it was a day full of laughing and talking! A day that was really needed!

A cool story that happened this week! We have been able to find so many people this week! We went to teach one family! The A... Family and as we were walking up to the door the 16 yr. old daughter was in tears, as we stood in the door way i asked her what was wrong and she said that her older brother beat her. My heart just sank, i knew we had to do a lesson with her so we were able to teach her about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, while I was bearing my testimony i felt the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ had for her! I have never felt so much love for anyone before. As the week went on we continued to go and visit her and her family and just last night we had taught them the end of the Restoration, (Apostasy, Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon) When just then her older brother walked into the room and sat down and started listening. He then began to ask us so many questions, Whats the difference between your church, baptist, catholic, 7 day,..etc.? Why did you come here to proselyte? How do you believe in Jesus Christ? Oh man so many questions, it was the coolest experience. He then told us that he had read the Plan of Salvation pamphlet and it really interested him! I am so excited we are going to be going back on Tuesday to teach him!

A Funny Story for the week is yesterday i was asked to give a talk in church! I was asked to give it on Missionary work and how the Holy Ghost is the teacher and not us! So i Had planned on sharing a scripture from 1 Nephi 4:6 and instead I ended up reading 1 Nephi 3:6 hahahaha on man now will you please go and read them!! Haha maybe no one was paying attention or just no one was listening, but no one said anything to me! Hahaha i felt like and idiot!

Well I hope and pray that you are all doing good! And that you have a great week! Something to remember this week is to make every moment count!

Have a great week! Love you!

Love,
Sister Bowers

FINALLY .....General Conference

Kasalelie Maingko! Ia Iromw wail? Hey everyone! How are you all? I hope that your week was great and that your Easter was even better! This week..the whole week was Easter on the Island of Pohnpei! They even cancelled school for it! It was very hard to go proselyting in the the evening from 7-9 pm because everyone was at church!

On Wednesday we were able to find and talk with a lot of people so that was a big blessing! Now we just gotta go see them all! The rest of the week has been crazy we have been running back and forth in between areas to try and get everything set up for general conference yesterday and Saturday! We were able to get everything working and all set up for everyone!

So yes we were able to watch General Conference! WAHOO! Finally! I absolutely love General Conference! A topic that stood out to me that everyone seemed to talk about was becoming more like Christ, Charity..The PURE LOVE OF CHRIST! Ha i know that is something that I struggle with some times but i am so grateful for all the talks that were given! I know that they are directly from our Heavenly Father to us! I am grateful for President Monson and his week talk about the Book of Mormon! The prophet has asked us to read it every day so obviously so is Heavenly Father! I love The Book of Mormon so much! It has helped me tremendously!

Since it being Easter weekend i want to share with you about our older brother Jesus Christ! I am so grateful for him! I have really come to know him and feel of his love while being here on my mission. I know that there have been countless times that he has comforted me and taken pains away from me that no one else could! I am grateful for is Atonement, and for the chance that i can use it daily! There is so much more that I can say about him but my time is running down! So i just want you all to know that I love my savior Jesus Christ and I love each and every one of you!

6th Transfer in the UH BRANCH!

Hey everyone! Another great week in the work of the Lord! I am going to be staying in the Uh Branch for another transfer! I absolutely love this branch they are my family! I have been teaching Sunday School and now i am going to be teaching Young Womens as well it is so true the Lord qualifies those he calls! Because I know with out a doubt that i wouldn't be able to do it with out his help. The members are good though, when ever i say something wrong in the language we all just laugh and it lightens the nervousness! We were blessed to be able to have another baptism this week! We are now just praying that her parents can get baptized this coming weekend!

The work is going great! Time is going by so fast i seems as if i cant get a grip on it! Sorry for the short email! One thing i just want to share in this email is that no matter how big your testimony is always keep a grip on it! Always hold on to what ever know know is true! Cause i can testify that Satan is getting stronger and stronger and is going to do everything he can to doubt what you know! I know if we do the little things every single day such as pray and read the Book of Mormon, we become stronger than Satan!

Have a great week! Love and miss you all!!! Thanks for all the Support and prayers!

John is BAPTIZED!!!!

YEAAH!! You got it John was baptized this weekend!! It was the coolest thing i've witnessed! But before i tell you all about it ill tell you a little about my week!

Monday: We were able to put these investigators that have become my own family on date for marriage! It was really cool to see their faces light up!

Tuesday: I made a cake for Kikileens son Kevin (one of our investigators) oh man, i have never seen any one so happy before in my life and it was all over cake! We had a little lesson before they ate it and all through the lesson the littlest kid was sitting behind dragging his fingers through the frosting! All i could think of was Me doing things like that to my mom! Dont you miss me mom? ;) haha oh man but in reality I realized how important the simple acts of service are. I was so happy i could see how much that simple cake ment to that whole family!

Wednesday: I went on exchange with Sister Fehoko again and while we were going to get her member present i was walking and the ground was really slick and i slipped and fell right on my bum haha yes its okay laugh cause i sure did! HAHa and then we got in the car and Sister Fehoko was just like that dog almost bit you and it didn't..So Wednesday once again thanks for all of your prayers for us as missionaries, you saved me from getting bit by a dog :)

Thursday: See picture below, No water...thats about all the excitement!

Friday: Sister Leslie put the car in the ditch (See picture Below)

John is my FAVORITE

John,Josh, Sister Bowers, Johns grand-daughter and Sister Wari

Hey everyone this week was good! We were so close to having our baptism with John our blind investigator! He is so cool! But he is going to hopefully be getting baptized this Saturday with his little grandson! I absolutley love teaching them! We see them every day just to keep them progressing and because they are never busy. 2 of my favorite lessons that we taught them this week were 10 commandments and Prayer, Scripture Study and Obedience. I loved teaching them the 10 commandments because when we teach the 10 commandments we use our hands and make things, as you know John cannot see so I go to sit right in front of him and teach him by him using his own hands! It was probably one of the most coolest experiences I have ever had! So I am so excited for John and Josh (His grandson) to get baptized this coming Saturday! I just keep praying that everything will work out!

Sorry but besides that this week has been pretty short! Oh our Branch got a new Branch president which I think will help with the branch a lot! So I am really excited about that! A scripture I want to share with you all this week is 1 Nephi 7:12 go and read it! And do what it says! Exercise your faith in Heavenly Father and I promise you that as you do your prayers will be answered, you will receive the help you need, but always remember Heavenly Father knows all and knows when we need certain blessings!

I hope you all have a great week and be safe! Remember to always have faith, its what everything starts with!

Love,

Sister Bowers

Missionary work is not for WIMPS!

Hey every one! How was your week!? Mine was great! I went on Exchange with Sister Fehoko and we went and saw one of their investigators whos kids are literally demons! Haha my name tag was flying everywhere, my clothes were getting pulled everywhere, getting punched and kicked where ever hahaha all I could do was laugh because I was like this is a joke! haha While we were in the middle of teaching one of her kids got mad and when out side and grabbed the machete, yes its in kids reach, I am in Pohnpei! And then he comes in the house and is just staring at Sister Fehoko and all I could think was holy crap he's gonna hit one of us! So we just sat there and I just began praying! The little kid when right in front of Sister Fehoko and Swung the Knife and sister Fehoko didn't even move! The knife barley missed her face! Oh man I stood up to go get the kid and then all the mom did was chase him out side! I literally can bear my testimony to you all that the lord watches over his missionaries and he protects them!! So me as a missionary I want to personally THANKYOU  for praying for the safety of the missionaries!

A cool little experience i had this week was we had an old investigator that we hadn't been able to see in a long time, her name is Bercy! We were driving and the spirit prompted me to stop at her house, no matter if there were people there or not, so we get to her house and we stop and get out, there was no one, we went to the house no one. We start to walk toward the car and i could hear her in the jungle, so i call her haha it how they do it here in Pohnpei and she comes! I was so happy! She was like "How come you never came back!" So we were able to set up an appointment with her and have been teaching her ever since! Oh man it was the coolest thing! Just by listening to the little promptings of the spirit we can be lead to great blessings!
