6 MONTHS LEFT!

Snail on Pohnpei.

Hey Everyone! How was your week?! This week was good! A lot of stress has been lifted! I absolutely love my new companion Sister James she is such a sweet heart! We decided to drop most of our investigators and just start over, We are keeping the ones that are really progressing! Kikileen and Kohrner (Eternal Investigators) haha oh man they are doing amazing! They are progressing so fast! They are planning on getting married on the 10th of June so i am really excited! We were going to meet them and Kohrner told us that he went to Kikileens mom and asked for permission/talked to her about them getting married and baptized! Now Kikileen just has to go! They are a family that shows how real the atonement is!

I am so grateful for the opportunity that i have to be a missionary and to see peoples lives change! I am grateful for all of my trials and struggles that i have had in life and on my mission because those are what have made my testimony grow!  I have seen how real the atonement is in my life and in the lives of others! I love this gospel with my whole heart! I love the Book of Mormon! I am so grateful for the power it has in it and the comfort it gives us! I hope you all have a great week! I love and miss you all!

Love,

Sister Bowers

Peineineite!

Happy Birthday!!  BIG 20!

Hey everyone! This week has been pretty slow, we started proselyting on Friday so it has been a long week! Saturday we were blessed with a baptism a 11 yr. old boy named Shondon Dadius! He is so sweet! As we were waiting for the baptism to start we forgot we needed witnesses so we had to wait 30 more min to start to wait for elders to come! Haha oh man baptisms on this island are rough! You never know if they are gonna go smoothly or what! haha so yes I had a typical blonde moment and forgot that you need witnesses at a baptism! Hahah

Pilahn en Koumour AKA Plan of Salvation

Hey everyone! How was your week!? My week was great! Another week on the island of Pohnpei! We were able to have a lesson this week with our "eternal investigators" and i was actually able to see the atonement change him! He has put himself on date to be baptized so now we are just going to continue to help him!

I don't have a lot to say this week other than how grateful i am for this gospel. I am grateful for the Plan of Salvation and for temples! Because of temples we can be with our families for ever! ETERNITY! What a blessing! All we have to do is our part! I am so grateful for my family and for all of you! I love this gospel with all my heart! I love my family! I love my Pohnpeian families and i love all of you! Have a great week! :)

Sister Bowers is LOVED in the Uh Branch!

Hey everyone! How are you all?! I hope you are all doing great! This week has been good! We have been able to really find the prepared investigators. We have started to teach Ana, Johns wife and we are hoping to put her on baptism date! I remember when I first got to Pohnpei and the very first time I met Ana, she wasn't the nicest person to talk to, she didn't want to hear about the gospel, we would come, she would leave. She would always yell at everyone, including the little kids, just kind of like a grouchy old lady. After John was baptized we decided that we would try to teach her because she would always join in our lessons that we would have with her grandson Shondon. So we have been teaching her and we invited her to come to church yesterday sacrament was almost over, the last speaker was giving their talk and in walks Ana and her whole family! Oh man I don't think I have been that happy in a while! I has been so cool to see how the atonement changes peoples life! We have also started teaching Shondons parents which has been an amazing experience also!

A funny story for the week, last night the power went out and when the power goes out on Pohnpei you cant tell if your eyes are open or if they are shut #roht haha its very dark. So I woke up last night at 11:45 and the power was out so I tried to find the phone, so in the process of trying to find the phone my companion sits up screaming "SISTER BOWERS!!" hah so I get scared and yell back at her "SISTER WARI WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!" haha oh my if only you all could have seen it!

That's about it for this week! I Hope that you all have a great week! I am always thinking and praying for you all! Love you!!

HEI! Kasalelie Maingko!

HEI! Kasalelie Maingko! Ia iromwail? How are you all?! This week was good! I was able to go on exchange with Sister Russell! It was so much fun! It rained all day on Wednesday so we weren't able to talk with a lot of people because Wednesdays are our walking days, were not allowed to use the car till 5pm! So there was no one on the road so it was a day full of laughing and talking! A day that was really needed!

A cool story that happened this week! We have been able to find so many people this week! We went to teach one family! The A... Family and as we were walking up to the door the 16 yr. old daughter was in tears, as we stood in the door way i asked her what was wrong and she said that her older brother beat her. My heart just sank, i knew we had to do a lesson with her so we were able to teach her about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, while I was bearing my testimony i felt the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ had for her! I have never felt so much love for anyone before. As the week went on we continued to go and visit her and her family and just last night we had taught them the end of the Restoration, (Apostasy, Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon) When just then her older brother walked into the room and sat down and started listening. He then began to ask us so many questions, Whats the difference between your church, baptist, catholic, 7 day,..etc.? Why did you come here to proselyte? How do you believe in Jesus Christ? Oh man so many questions, it was the coolest experience. He then told us that he had read the Plan of Salvation pamphlet and it really interested him! I am so excited we are going to be going back on Tuesday to teach him!

A Funny Story for the week is yesterday i was asked to give a talk in church! I was asked to give it on Missionary work and how the Holy Ghost is the teacher and not us! So i Had planned on sharing a scripture from 1 Nephi 4:6 and instead I ended up reading 1 Nephi 3:6 hahahaha on man now will you please go and read them!! Haha maybe no one was paying attention or just no one was listening, but no one said anything to me! Hahaha i felt like and idiot!

Well I hope and pray that you are all doing good! And that you have a great week! Something to remember this week is to make every moment count!

Have a great week! Love you!

Love,
Sister Bowers

FINALLY .....General Conference

Kasalelie Maingko! Ia Iromw wail? Hey everyone! How are you all? I hope that your week was great and that your Easter was even better! This week..the whole week was Easter on the Island of Pohnpei! They even cancelled school for it! It was very hard to go proselyting in the the evening from 7-9 pm because everyone was at church!

On Wednesday we were able to find and talk with a lot of people so that was a big blessing! Now we just gotta go see them all! The rest of the week has been crazy we have been running back and forth in between areas to try and get everything set up for general conference yesterday and Saturday! We were able to get everything working and all set up for everyone!

So yes we were able to watch General Conference! WAHOO! Finally! I absolutely love General Conference! A topic that stood out to me that everyone seemed to talk about was becoming more like Christ, Charity..The PURE LOVE OF CHRIST! Ha i know that is something that I struggle with some times but i am so grateful for all the talks that were given! I know that they are directly from our Heavenly Father to us! I am grateful for President Monson and his week talk about the Book of Mormon! The prophet has asked us to read it every day so obviously so is Heavenly Father! I love The Book of Mormon so much! It has helped me tremendously!

Since it being Easter weekend i want to share with you about our older brother Jesus Christ! I am so grateful for him! I have really come to know him and feel of his love while being here on my mission. I know that there have been countless times that he has comforted me and taken pains away from me that no one else could! I am grateful for is Atonement, and for the chance that i can use it daily! There is so much more that I can say about him but my time is running down! So i just want you all to know that I love my savior Jesus Christ and I love each and every one of you!
