Only 2 transfers left?! What?

Hey  everyone! Time is flying so fast! Here we are already getting ready to start the month of October! How crazy! This week has been great! We were able to help put Kathrene on date for October 14th! She is so cute! We ended up meeting her mom on the road and her mom stops us and is holding these princess looking shoes in her hand and she says "Look i got Kathrene some church shoes!" Oh man i just wanted to let out a little chuckle, they were pink and silver with glitter all over them! They just were not 18yr. old girl shoes! But I was so happy to see that her mom was supporting her! Her mom is starting to be more welcoming to us and she is always taking care of us as if we are her own kids! It is amazing how this gospel changes people! We are hoping to start teaching her whole family soon!

So here are some of the things that happened through out the week:
-I had to come all the way to Pohnpei to eat my very first Deer..yes there are deer on Pohnpei
- One of my favorite scriptures Alma 23:6
-"It's not about trying to be like others, its about trying to be like him." This was my favorite quote that i read this week meaning if were going to compare ourselves to someone and look for ways to improve, always look to our Savior!
-We went and passed our Book of Mormons in another area and we went on splits, we ended up walking through the jungle and getting lost, but thank goodness I was with Nohno Kalieo (stake Presidents wife) who knew her way around!
- A member fed Sister Russell and i chicken curry and we each took a piece and took a bite, yeah i bit into straight fat and bone, then i look over at Sister Russell and she is feeling the same way i am so she just holds her chicken in her had and tried to hide it so no one could see she didn't eat it, we got ready to go and we both had the piece of chicken in our hands but some how needed to get rid of it so that we could hug them and shake hands hahah oh man i was laughing so hard we both ended up being able to throw it away but it was just funny! We both just held the chicken for about 5 min!

Anyways thats a little look in the the missionary life on Pohnpei! I hope you all have a great week! Thanks  for all of your love and support!

Love,
Sister Bowers
